NaCCA Conducts Survey on the CEP Programme Nationwide.

From January 13th to 24th, 2025, NaCCA’s team traveled nationwide to gather crucial data from selected schools under the Communities of Excellence Programme (CEP). This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Education, focuses on improving literacy and numeracy in some selected schools.

The CEP brings together a strong network of stakeholders—District directors of Education, headteachers, teachers, local communities, NGOs, and more—to enhance educational outcomes for learners across 700 schools in 40 districts in Ghana. Our field officers visited schools, interacted with district education directors, headteachers, and teachers, and gathered feedback from learners and school management committees in order to gather insights needed to strengthen and improve the programme design.

The participating districts were Accra Metropolitan, Adansi Asokwa, Afigya Kwabre North, Akatsi North, Akatsi South, Akuapem North, Akyemansa, Amansie West, Anloga, Asene Manso Akroso, Assin South, Asunafo North, Bia West, Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Birim North, Bolgatanga East, Bolga Municipal, Bosomtwe, Central Gonja, Chereponi, Fanteakwa South, Gomoa Central, Jaman South, Jasikan, Jomoro, Juaboso, Kassena-Nankana West, Lambussie -Karni, Nadowli-Kaleo, Nanumba South, Obuasi East, Sefwi- Akontombra, Sekondi-Takoradi, Sene West, Shai-Osudoku, Shama, Sissala West, South Tongu, Builsa Southand Tarkwa-Nsuaem.

The passion and enthusiasm shown by all involved during this data collection exercise have left us more hopeful than ever. With the valuable insights gained, we are optimistic that the interventions under CEP will continue to drive significant improvements in literacy and numeracy in our schools.
