STANDARDS, ASSESSMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE (SAQA) DIRECTORATE
The Standards, Assessment and Quality Assurance (SAQA) Directorate of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) plays a central role in shaping how learning is measured and evaluated within Ghana’s pre-tertiary education system. Our mission is to ensure that learner assessments are aligned with national curriculum standards and serve as powerful tools for improving teaching, learning, and overall educational outcomes.
We develop, coordinate, and review assessment policies, tools, and frameworks that provide accurate and meaningful insights into learner performance. By working collaboratively with educators, examination bodies, and education stakeholders, the Directorate ensures that assessment practices are relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of all learners.
SAQA plays a critical role in defining learning standards, guiding assessment strategies, and upholding quality assurance mechanisms that guarantee improved learning outcomes for all learners.
