PROFILE OF MR. ERIC AMOAH
Deputy Director-General, Technical Services, National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA)
Mr. Eric Amoah is a seasoned educationist with over a decade of extensive experience in curriculum development, education management, teacher training, and assessment administration. His professional journey reflects a strong commitment to educational transformation and learner-centred practices across all levels of Ghana’s education system.
He has served in diverse capacities, including classroom teacher, department head, district trainer, national facilitator, and curriculum specialist. His teaching experience spans senior high schools (Osei Bonsu SHS), technical institutes (Nkoranza Technical Institute), and tertiary institutions (Valley View University), where he distinguished himself in instructional delivery, student mentorship, and academic leadership. Notably, his leadership as Head of the Science Department at Osei Bonsu SHS contributed significantly to improved student outcomes in science education.
At NaCCA, Mr. Amoah has been instrumental in driving technical initiatives, leading curriculum reforms and design, and coordinating national assessments such as the National Standardised Test (NST). His strategic oversight has strengthened curriculum fidelity, teacher preparedness, and learner assessment nationwide. He is widely recognised for his contributions to evidence-based policymaking, inter-agency collaboration, and the promotion of inclusive, competency-based education.
Mr. Amoah has also served as an Examiner for both WAEC and NABPTEX and played key roles in national data collection projects with the Ghana Statistical Service.
